ViolinHub was born from the established experience of Cremonese violin maker Giuseppe Stefano Conca who, in 2014, together with Master Violin Maker Giovanni Colonna and Eng. Massimo Lucchi, founded the Academia Cremonensis of lutherie, an institution now established as one of the most prestigious private violin making schools internationally.
At Academia Giuseppe Stefano Conca attended the theoretical and practical lessons of the violin making course under the guidance of Maestro Giovanni Colonna, earning the certificate of competence as a violin maker issued by the Lombardy Region in 2015.
As president and managing director of the school, he has given numerous educational lectures on violin making, also presenting the Academia’s own courses at EXPO 2015 in Milan.
Since 2021 Giuseppe Stefano Conca has collaborated with the Cultural Association Music and Culture, of which he is vice president. The association, led by Prof. Fabio Torrembini (double bass player), has promoted and organized important violin making competitions such as the one dedicated to Marino Capicchioni (Sogliano al Rubicone, 2021) and the First International Violin Making Competition “Giovanni Battista Guadagnini” held successfully in Piacenza in May 2023.
The purpose of the Association and this site is to introduce young and deserving luthiers of proven quality to the market.
